Here comes a New year, and with lots of hope anticipation and eagerness we await the surprises that life might throw towards us, during this year. We cannot determine how effecting those surprises shall be, but we can only wish that those homing surprises have pleasant gifts for you and me , A year ended and this global recession didn’t it chose to stay and devour some more smiles and even lives . Let’s Hope for the best and a Happy Happy New year to all of you .

Web Apps charging in , Desktop Softwares may be History soon !!

I was just pondering over the current progressive scenario in the Computer world , more and more softwares are being replaced by their online counter parts . We have numerous examples like

1. Office - Google Docs,Zoho

2. Feed Reader - Google reader,newsgator online etc.

3. Multimedia - online streaming sites like YouTube, Imeem,last.fm

4. Converters - Online video/audio/document converters are there .

and i can quote several other categories like Image editing,Games and everything else , with the increaing coordination between Web browsers and developers , it seems that one day all our local desktop apps would go on-line . technologies like google gears,adobe air are all making these web apps look and perform faster so as to beat up their desktop counterparts , and the greatest advantage you get is Platform independence,anywhere access,no processing overload on your system ( except processing that javascript) .

Still many applications would remain on desktops, but any application that’s small can be shifted to online status, especially those nifty library management,hospital management etc.

My trip to Lucknow and Sultanpur

The previous week , I was in Lucknow on the ocassion of Raksha Bandhan as my sister lives there and also to get my pending B.Tech result out asap . It was a wonderful trip but for the amount of traveling I had to undergo , I would like to share some images that I took through my mobile, although they are not of good quality ( Samsung 1.3 Mp is worse than Nokia or Sony ) but still here are they .

Vandana - She is really cute and most of the snaps I took are of her only , as she is very fond of getting shot ,

Ashish - He is studying in 4th standard and he is son of my Father’s sister , this guy is really entertaining and talks like as if he is omni cognizant , looking nice with the pet cat named “pussy”

Aman - My chacha (Uncle’s) son , best part about him is, he will bit your finger/hand if you trouble him and he has got stylish curly hairs .

An Old Lady - She sat near me and started talking to me about my well-being and other general stuff , when I was at my Nana ji’s house

Santosh and Bholu - Mama’s Son ,Santosh is highly good in studies , has jumped 2 classes and is studying in 4th.

Amit and me - Son of my uncle at Sultanpur .

Iqbal is gem of a movie , really loved it

I heard about this movie way back but never got time or you can say the CD to watch this movie , but today finally I watched it, and I can say that Indian Directors are churning out good movies now .

Iqbal portrays the Power of Dreams , Finding your destiny

It lefts me asking myself that what I was born for , what is my goal and yeah that’s a really nice question and a very important one . I have been switching minds over technical and Managerial lines , and the way in which Iqbal keeps on persuading his drunken coach(Naseeruddin Shah) to teach him Cricket , that shows the determination and will power he had

I love watching movies like this , it just motivated me to the core and fumed several questions in my mind , now I have to find my fate,destiny or Goal whatever because I should at least know where to put the efforts and will power

Dell Inspiron 1525 Laptop - ( My latest addiction !!)

I recently got myself a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop , and I’m in love with it , partly because after having those slow motion effects on my old Compaq Presario desktop , This lappy made me quite happy with it’s high performance and low cost advantage . I ordered it from Dell via a Bank account transfer and it cost me around 37K INR . I’m highly impressed by the accessories and performance I got with my Dell laptop , Few of the most fascinating details are …

1. Core 2 Duo Intel processor ( 2 x 1.83 Ghz ) with 2GB ( 2×1GB) 667 Mhz DDR2 RAM

2. 160 GB HDD 5400rpm ( although you get around only 136 GB for use , rest is wasted in recovery partition, dell media direct and Vista files )

3. Excellent 2MP Webcam with video and picture effects ( Nice cartoons and frames i loved them, will make your kids lot happy !!)

4. Superb Earbuds like those that come with Sony Ericsson Walkman phones .

5. A tiny and a cardboard like thin remote to manage, media center , presentations and your whole desktop etc .

6. Nice Street Gloss finish on the exterior .( BUT.. I’ll advice you to go for non-glossy versions , as this glossy gets scratches too soon and is much harder to maintain .)

7. Really Cool looking Carry Bag ( Backpack ) makes me look trendy and stylish and at the same time having ample room for keeping my external USB mouse,Keyboard in it , and few of my books too

Hey and some important notes too .. Dont forget to turn video compression ON in webcam options else you’ll have files of size 700MB for a 2 min. video .

BSNL broadband is seriously FAST and Cost effective

Now i’m at my home after those highly cherished college days passed away , I got myself a BSNL broadband connection and believe me it rocks !! , I’m getting download speeds nearing 220 KBps and free downloading/surfing from 2 a.m - 8 a.m . With this speed you can easily download a movie (dvdrip ~700MB) in much below 2 Hrs. duration . When compared with other rivals like Airtel,Reliance,Tata etc. BSNL leads them all because nowhere can you get broadband this cheap only 500 Rs./month .
It’s not a advertisement or a sponsored post , it’s just a write up of my satisfaction levels with BSNL’s broadband speed .

Last Days in College

Since i entered RKGIT m i had a vision in my mind , some goals to achieve and some ideas of how to live my college life , and by far I almost succeeded in most of them . But still it feels like a lot is left behind and the feeling that these days will never be back again just shakes me with a strange fear . The life ahead is tough and I could see the symptoms right now . I’ll miss these days a lot as these are not just “my last days of college” but ,

my last days of freedom

my last days of acting like a child whenever i need to

my last days of relaxed life and all day entertainment

my last days of being considered as a child/minor so as to escape punishment in various situations.

Dont know , where this life shall take me , but …….
